For each function your team performs, you can create a standardized role, such as “Bookkeeper” or “Reviewer.” These roles make it simple to match tasks with the right specialists and ensure they know their part of the process.

No more patchwork solutions with separate tags for every employee or templates to mirror your team’s structure. Now, you can assign roles directly to clients’ accounts. 

Take a small business client, for example. You might assign roles such as “Bookkeeper,” “Tax Advisor,” and “Payroll Specialist” to make sure all their needs are covered. Instead of guessing who’s responsible for what and when to step in, your team can focus on their work with confidence, and clients always get the attention they deserve.

Roles can be assigned within each client profile or in bulk through an import from a spreadsheet. Bulk assignments directly through the interface are coming soon, as well. For example, if you’re adding a new service, like payroll processing, you’ll be able to quickly apply the “Payroll Specialist” role to all relevant accounts without disrupting existing workflows.

How to implement roles into your workflow

Once your team’s structure is mapped out, TaxDome takes it a step further to keep your workflows flexible and efficient — no matter how unique or dynamic your processes are.

To make sure tasks are assigned to the right people, roles can be utilized as variables. This way, when tasks are created, they can be assigned to the assigned  “Bookkeeper” on the account instead of having a separate task for each of your bookkeepers, reducing redundancy in task templates. 

And since team members often wear multiple hats, roles are designed to adapt. One team member can take on more than one role within the same account — e.g., both “Bookkeeper” and “Payroll” — or hold different roles across various accounts. This flexibility ensures you can adapt to changing workloads and team dynamics without missing a beat.
