Welcome to #TestimonialThursday! Starting this week, we will be sharing some of our clients’ stories about their experiences and successes with TaxDome. This week testimonial comes from Tessa Allen from Tessa Tax. From 2011, Tessa Tax specializes in helping small businesses, artists and individuals around the US with their taxes, payroll and accounting.

Why did you choose TaxDome?

Something in my gut made me want to switch to TaxDome this year. I had already tried two other client-portal office-management systems and felt hesitant to drag all my clients to yet another new platform. But I decided to go for the free trial and had some of my favorite clients give me their feedback. Everyone unanimously agreed that TaxDome was more user-friendly than any of my previous offerings. We all know that if a client can’t figure out the technology you are using, then you have to make up for it, which reduces your efficiency and workflow.

How has integrating your business management with TaxDome made a difference for your firm?

Most of my clients are remote, and I have a paperless office. I am also a mom and work from home, so I always need to find ways to cut out as many extra steps as possible to save time. With TaxDome, I can upload a tax return to the client. While I am still in the process of uploading, I can create a new folder for it to go into and request the client to approve the document. And the best part? I can bill them right then and there in the same step and lock the document to the bill, so they have to pay me before they have access to their copy of the tax return. Brilliant! No more waiting to see if the person has paid and then going back to send them their return later!

What do you like most about TaxDome?

One of the organizational features I really like about TaxDome is that when a client uploads a file, they designate what tax year that document is for. And they can write a little note to you about it in the description. This is so helpful! It virtually replaces the paper clips and sticky notes that come with a stack of paper documents.

When a new client contacts me, I give them my TaxDome URL and tell them to create their own login and upload their information to me. I don’t have to get their Social Security number or any other information first. How easy is that!

Are there features that you are missing from TaxDome? Or features you wish could be added to TaxDome? (Note that we can consider adding these as well as let you know expected roll-out dates)

I look forward to seeing some of TaxDome’s features more developed in the future. The Tax Organizer, for instance, is fine for getting a new client’s basic information, but I am hoping it will eventually be customized so that it can acquire more detailed and useful information.

Are there any additional thoughts about TaxDome you’d like to share?

I also appreciate how responsive TaxDome is to my questions and suggestions. I have used bigger companies who never seem to listen, while constantly adding features I don’t care about. The folks at TaxDome work hard to make a great product and incorporate the needs of their clients into everything they do.
