From a wide-screen document viewer, a new chat interface, and AI-powered document sorting to setting multi-factor authentication policies for firms & clients and custom job automations, these updates are built to meet your needs during the busiest time of the year. But before we dive into the updates, we’re excited to share a big announcement that will change the way you think about client expectations.

  • Bookkeeping features: In Q1, we’ll be rolling out direct integrations with your clients’ general ledgers, starting with QuickBooks Online (QBO). You’ll be able to view transactions, ask questions, recategorize entries, and make updates directly within TaxDome — for both you and your clients. And best of all, with unlimited clients and no per-client fees, you can scale your practice without worrying about extra costs. Join our waitlist to stay updated.

Client requests

Let’s start with an update on one of your favorite tools — Client Requests.

Client Requests have been a hit since their release in October, and now getting the information you need from clients has never been easier.

As a reminder, requests let you quickly and easily create an itemized list of questions you want your clients to answer. Just like an organizer, you can utilize many question types — text entry, dates, numbers, file uploads, and more. 

With this release, we’ve added the ability to template requests, include them in automations, and bulk-send requests.

Whether you need a template for frequently recurring requests or want to make sending a request a regular part of a specific pipeline, Client requests adapt to your needs. 

  • Reusable templates: standardize and save frequently sent requests.
  • Customizable automations: make Client requests a regular part of your pipeline to automatically send requests and advance jobs in your workflow when clients respond.
  • Bulk sending: send a single request to multiple clients or accounts at once, ensuring everyone gets what they need without all the extra effort.

The community has had rave reviews about requests so far, and we’re confident that these additions will make them even more popular.

Job sidebar redesign

Once your clients provide the information you need, the next step is acting on it. And our new job sidebar ensures your team can use that data to its fullest potential, giving you quicker access to the information you need to help get the job done.

All of the context your team needs access to is visible in one organized window — documents, invoices, chats, and more.

The tables have been updated to show document statuses and other relevant information to reduce clicks and provide you with the information you need. 

We’ve also made navigation faster with a pinned header. No more scrolling to link documents or add notes — it’s all just one click away.

Chats

At TaxDome, we know that even small improvements can make a big difference in your day-to-day workflows. That’s why we’ve introduced a new reply-to feature in Chats, just like on WhatsApp and iMessage.

Now, you and your clients can respond to specific messages in busy conversations where multiple topics overlap, making it easier to keep things organized.

In 2023 alone, more than a million secure chats were exchanged between firms and their clients. We’re excited to see the impact they will have on your workflows and client experience in 2025!

  • Flawless data sync between QBO and TaxDome: Keep your records accurate and save your team hours of manual reconciliation. TaxDome now automatically reflects changes from QuickBooks Online, including deleted or inactive entities.
  • IRS notifications front and center: Focus on what matters most with a dedicated IRS filter in Inbox+. IRS notifications are easy to locate, helping your team act quickly and stay compliant.
  • A cleaner look for invoices and proposals: Your clients deserve the full picture — without clutter. Long descriptions are now displayed compactly, letting you include every detail about your services without compromising the design.
  • Account imports with custom fields: Handle client data your way. Include and manage custom “User” fields during imports and exports, ensuring accuracy while simplifying client organization and team assignments.
