Congratulations—you made it through another tax season! While releases are paused in the weeks ahead of a major deadline, we continued to work diligently behind the scenes. This month’s releases include firm mobile app improvements, UX improvements, organizer improvements and the much-requested ability to mark documents as read for your clients.
Outside of the features discussed below, a few sneak peeks for next month: redesigned client import, the ability to use any custom fields in contracts & emails and the ability to draw and re-use signatures!
Read on to see the changes in detail.
📞 CRM
Manually resending client reminders
You can now manually resend contracts, messages, organizers invoices and documents (approval & signature requests). Automated reminders are built in, but sometimes you just want to resend your clients the ‘complete this action’ email/push notification manually.
📝 Document Management
Organizers: UX improvements
In March, we released a bunch of updates that included UI changes for clients and new features for firms designed to make creating and testing organizers simpler. By popular demand, we’ve added two more:
- Rename organizers. By default, the name of an organizer is the same as the template it was created from You can now rename organizers (at creation or afterward). More>>
- Add explanations. You can now make it easier for clients to know exactly what you’re asking by adding explanations to questions. As a reminder, you can also add text blocks (recommended use case: introducing a section). Clients can see the explanation by hovering their cursor over the tooltip icon. More>>
Mark documents as read
When you add a document to the client portal, it is marked ‘New’ until your client has read it. This works as intended to grab your client’s attention to newly added documents. However, when you are transitioning from a different system (example: How to move your files from Smartvault to TaxDome), clients were faced with an unwelcome and daunting list of hundreds of ‘new’ documents that were, in fact, not new. With this release, you can now mark documents as read, removing the ‘New’ badge.
The ability to Mark as read exists for both firm and clients.
📱 Mobile App for Firms
UX: enhanced push notifications
Firm Mobile App push notifications now take you directly to the specific page you need to go to. E.g., if your colleague mentions you in a secure message, the notification will lead you to the message where you are mentioned.
