CRM Update: Streamlined Client Account Creation and UI/UX Improvements

Earlier we introduced the TaxDome CSV Import tool for quick and safe client data migration in bulk. While we were investigating what could be the next step to make our CRM easier to use, it became clear that creating client accounts in TaxDome CRM was a time-consuming and cumbersome process. It required switching between different tabs to complete different steps, making the process disrupted and confusing.

In this blog we will take a look at our new simplified process of creating client accounts with a more intuitive UI and how it can help you reduce time, clicks and human error in your CRM operations.

With this update, we introduce a seamless 2-step client creation flow within a single sidebar. You can now set the client type, individual or company and the correspondent account fields will auto-populate. We’ve also implemented the ability to create multiple contacts and account tags on the fly and view and manage all client data in one client Info tab.

Let’s see what’s changed in detail.

2-step client creation flow

The key improvement is that the entire flow now happens within a single sidebar. There are fewer clicks – you no longer have to open additional tabs to add new contacts, create tags, add custom fields. The entire flow has been redesigned, resulting in a 2-step seamless process with easy navigation and without losing context.

Our preliminary testing showed that the time to add an account to your CRM significantly decreased due to reduced data entry, fewer clicks and improved navigation.

Our early access program participants liked the new account creation flow:

I do like the new account creation option. – Mickele Nowden CPA

The new account and contact setup is great. Very easy to setup new account and contact. – Russell Hoskins

New CRM setting: Client type

You can now save extra clicks by choosing a client type for the account, Individual or Company: the correspondent account fields will auto-populate and the account name (which you can modify) will be automatically generated. In addition to the ability to apply tags in the process of account creation, you can now create tags within the same sidebar without having to click into the Firm settings page.

Add new contacts faster

In addition to the ability to link existing contacts to an account when creating a client account, you can now create multiple contacts with the ability to edit, remove or unlink contact, and add contact custom fields without having to open extra tabs. All contacts will be automatically linked to the client account with no loss of data and organized for easy access.

Adding a contact by using the +NEW button has been improved as well and is consistent with the new design and functionality of contact management.

Add new contacts

Single screen to view and manage client data

The client account details and contacts are now displayed in a single screen. By going to the Info tab of the client account, you can view, add and edit client data and every contact information.

Team and tag tabs have been removed. This info is now accessible directly on the Info page.

What’s next:

In the future, you will be able to auto-map client types when importing clients in bulk by adding one more corresponding column to the import file. Additionally, you will be able to add and edit account custom fields as a step in the account creation process without switching to the Firm settings.
