In any business, each stakeholder requires different information in order to be successful. Owners and managers need to see team performance, high-level workload management. Solo proprietors, employees, contractors need to see, “What do I have to work on today”, and administrators need to keep track of pending client activity. Reliable and accessible information is crucial to keep your practice running smoothly and efficiently.
When all of this information is located in different places, it can be difficult to get an overview of what’s going well and what requires your attention. The homepage we initially created didn’t give your team such an overview.
Today, we’re excited to launch TaxDome’s revamped dashboard — Insights. The insights page is a collection of fully customizable widgets. Each member of your team can set up their own widgets to ensure they see the most important information for them.
The insights dashboard enables you to:
- Plan your own work
- Oversee the work of your team
- View all pending client activity
- Identify problems and manage workloads
- Identify high priority tasks and jobs

Widgets for owners, managers and admins
Benefits: quick overview on team’s performance, deadlines and workload of each team member.
Team summary
Quickly identify team members who are overloaded (or have everything under control and can take on more work).
By clicking, for example, the Overdue section, you will see all employee’s jobs and tasks with missed deadlines. Quickly assess and reallocate work to ensure you are able to meet deadlines & client needs.
Job summary – team view
Insight into all jobs across your firm. With the help of this widget, you can quickly identify overdue jobs, jobs approaching deadlines (today, tomorrow or within a week) and jobs that have had no activity (3 days, 1 week, or 1 month).
Tasks to do – team view
Plan your day (or next Tuesday or three Wednesdays from now, choose any date): what’s urgent, what requires your attention, what’s overdue. Quickly reprioritize your activities based on the information provided.
Pending client activity – team view
This widget gives you a thorough overview on any actions you’re waiting your clients to complete. As a manager, you have the ability to select which team member(s) assigned clients you want to view when looking at the data.

By clicking any of these cards, you will be redirected to the list of client accounts with this pending item. For example, by clicking the ‘Invoices’ card, you will see the list of clients who have outstanding invoices.
With this widget, you can quickly identify frozen pitfalls, like when a client didn’t submit an organizer on time or didn’t sign their form 8879 or 2848. You can also quickly reassign these frozen clients or jobs and reprioritize their deadlines.

Tasks to do
Plan your workday in seconds — this widget shows you overdue, urgent and high priority tasks and jobs. You’ll never miss a deadline.
One click will redirect you to the task or job to work on. Or choose to view your todo list in a handy calendar view.
Pending client activity
Aggregate list of all clients you are assigned to that have any outstanding items
- Invoice
- Organizer
- Signature
- Contract (Engagement letters)
- Approval

Job summary
Quick overview on jobs you’re working on. With this widget, you can spot jobs that are overdue, approaching deadlines or have had no activity for some time.
Which widgets do I see in the dashboard?
As soon as you log in to your account, you will see a set of new widgets. The set depends on your access rights: e.g. if you have an admin access right, you will see the team summary widget.
Customize your view (edit widgets):
- Change the order
- Add new widgets (you can have as many as you want)
- Delete widgets you don’t need
Filter data
Filters in Insights work the same way as filters in reporting: Any filters you apply will remain until you remove them or apply a new one. The information you are able to filter will depend on your access rights: just yourself, specific team members, or all employees.
